The walk takes you through Kanazawa's two geiko districts, Higashi and Kazue-machi, located along the Asano River. Your guide, who has extensive knowledge of the history and culture of these districts and geiko who have long worked there, will share fascinating stories of how the tradition was viewed in the past and how it has been preserved and adopted in modern-day Japan.
It offers a deeper understanding of the rich, 200-year-old culture of Kanazawa's geiko districts.
Temple District

Explore one of Kanazawa's three temple districts, the Utatsuyama Temple District, also known as Kokoro-no-Michi ("the Path of the Heart"). Tucked away from the popular Higashi Chaya Geiko District, this neighbourhood is a home to more than 50 temples nestled among modest houses.
Our guide, who has a deep passion for these temples, will lead you through this remarkable hidden district, where each unique temple has its own history, architecture, and stories to discover.
