A Path into Wabi-Sabi
A delightful time spent with Aya at a morning Chakaiseki meal in the Higashi Chaya District. Aya gave an informative and detailed overview of the geisha culture and tea houses before arrived at the restaurant. She then enabled the chef to explain the courses and seasonal dishes that he had prepared. Having lived in Japan for nearly 30 years, I know more than most tourists but Aya adapted her content to match my interests. Totally recommended and I have suggested it to some friends.

Tea Ceremony
We had an unforgettable afternoon with Aya at a traditional tea ceremony. We met a little early, and Aya kindly took us on a mini guided walk through the beautiful Nishi Chaya District before heading to the tea master’s residence, where the ceremony took place. On the way, we stopped at a local wagashi shop to pick up some sweets to enjoy with our matcha. The tea master had also prepared a selection of wagashi to pair with the tea, making the whole experience even more special.The ceremony felt incredibly authentic and gave us a wonderful glimpse into Japanese tradition. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience a more intimate and traditional side of Japan.

Guided Walk in the Geiko Districts
The two-hour length felt perfect, giving plenty of time to stroll, observe, and truly appreciate the atmosphere while learning about Geiko culture.
Our guide was fantastic. She spoke excellent English, was incredibly knowledgeable, and had a lovely presence. I also appreciated that we were given headphones so we could hear her clearly at all times, even while walking through busy areas. It made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.The surroundings were stunning, and the tour itself was both relaxing and enriching. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kanazawa. The Art of Geisha truly made my trip to Kanazawa special. Every event was exceptionally well organized, and their staff members are amazing. Thank you for the unforgettable memories you created for me.
